Finally got my front subframe out today, (after 3 hours of cut hands and general pain) and discovered both my engine mounts had completely perished, so much so that it is now quite possible to move the motor completely independantly of the frame itself... For some reason I find this quite disturbing. The shell (all that will be left of it in a week) is getting sandblasted and all the bodywork is being done to pretty much top standard. I'm thinking of Metallic Black, or the Orange on the new Monaro CV8Z with maybe a metallic silver stripe... Any ideas for a hot lookin paintjob are welcome!

Nathan

I think you should go with orange or possibly blue. IMO black is not a very good colour for a Mini. I've seen some Minis that look alright black but bright or light colours suit the Mini a little better. How about metallic orange with a silver clubman GT strip across the hood and down the sides?

problem with back is every panel has to be perfect or it shows up all the ripples etc in it.

go with a bright trendy colour and make it unique.

Still Ben, u dont get money from the bank for free. Now drop the crap. My paint guy is going to lend me a few catalogs and his own ideas on what would look good, and he should be in the know. He painted half his van some colour he wants me to see, it's like a chameleon, but its not, apparently. I'll make sure that a softer media is used thanks makka. Chong has convinced me the tough 1275 motor is the way to go, now i have to source a motor from somewhere, any condition, doesnt matter.
