You may as well keep it. It's not worth your time to get rid it. The better money is in big blocks. |

Id keep it, re-build again, turbo it, and shove it in another shell if where you. |

You must have missed the meeting. Low kms= 1 to 24999 Medium kms = 25000 to 64999 High kms = 65000 and up. When (if) it gets to the magic 100,000 then it is classified FUBAR, and must be rebuilt, which makes it 'like new' until it gets 1km on the clock. ![]() |

the average car does 20 thousand a year, does this mean that mini owners rebuild there motors every 4-5 years |

your description its a 998 and has 66 thousand since rebuild so its been rebuilt at least once and depending on who did it and what was done, was the gearbox/diff rebuilt then fully that is why its a high milage unit you asked I answered no need to yell ![]() Jon |

i was thinking it would be more like low - under 80 thousand med- around 150 thousand high- 220 to 300 thousand is your reference for "a series" motors only, or all motors in general |

mate for a modern motor with lots of technology and especially a toyota built motor, 66 aint that much at all... ... however for a mini motor that is a motor that has a 50year old design, sharres the motor oil with a gearbox, its just natural that they will wear out quicker than a nice modern sirion motor |

I'll be lauging if I get 200,000k out of my A-Series 1098...that'd be f'king awesome!! 66,000 is kinda of irrelevant anyways. Was it thrashed for 66,000k ? or was it driven by a half blind grandma to the shops and back for 25 years ? Maybe take the head off and check what the head is like, the pistons, the bores etc etc rather than just go off how many K's it has done. I had an engine with less than 5000k on it crap itself because the previous owner rebuilt it with instructions out of a manual only following instructions on every 2nd line. |

its never really had a hard life i just thought its had value because its a good runner with no smoke ,its only comming out because something better is going in. and it seems like a waste sitting in my shed never to be used again |
