On the way to work this morning, cruising out thru the back of kangaroo ground/eltham, there is nice down hill stretch that turns into a 90deg. right hander.

I travel this way to work everyday (and forgot about the corner :? )

Anyway, as i approached the corner (maybe about 50m away) i realised i had better slow down (was doing about 80kph)

I jumped on the brakes (twin leading edge drums) and the right rear locked up and stepped the arse out to the left, lucky there was no cars coming the other way around the corner, because i had to take the apex as i was still going a bit quicker then a should of been for that corner.

Anyway, it got the heart rate up, i had fun, i'm still alive and the mini is un-scathed.

there is no real moral here, but im just wondering why the right rear would of locked up?

Rohan

Downhill, weight at the front is probably part of it. could of also hit some diesel or oil etc. I'd check the other wheel cylinder, maybe the right rear locked because the left is sticking?

good you didn't hit anything though!

Adjust your front and rears everytime you are under there, every week if you can be bothered...

I test my brake adjustments everytime it rains :P sometimes unintentionally

Cool, i will get it checked out.

When the rear stepped out it was great, it made it easier to go around the right hand corner :P
