Hey people, What does this part connect to??? ![]() Another Pic: ![]() I am not sure if it is effecting the starting of my car or not as I have no idea what it was supposed to be used for. I once accidently connected the 12V horn connector to this exact plug and the car seemed to start better?? I could be delusional as usual... |

I can't answer your question, but my solenoid (different to that one) has at least two connectors that aren't connected to anything. From memory all that should be connected besides the main power wires (ie the -15 gauge ones ![]() If you turn the key and it goes vroom I don't see a problem ![]() |

LOL i see... i just wanted to make sure as my logic says, if it was made that way then it must have some purpose ![]() |

Just remember, curiosity killed the cat (i wonder what happens when i connect these two wires together......) Not that I can talk - I once managed to wire my car so that when you turned the heater blower on the fuel gauge went up! I used to explain to people that is was meant to do that, by pressing the switch it vulcanises the petroleum distillate and hence creates more petrol.... no body believed me! |

I think it's an `undocumented feature'. Just like in MS Windoze.. ![]() |

If this was correct and it wasn't connected I wouldn't be able to start the car right?? the car starts, it's just missing a connection there and curiousity is killing me... wtf does it do??! ![]() ![]() Edit: I've tried to make sense of the wiring diagrams, I think it needs to go to ground?? i have no idea... |

Don't ground it, if the starter works. You could cause another fire... ![]() |

i think ita an AUX power out, it looks like a late model clubman solenoid, this was used to run to the fuse box ( pretty sure any way ) |

Well its on a starter solenoid so there's only two things it could do, isnt there? Its probably just an Auxilary 12 volts on ignition or constant 12 volts (might be the input for the alternator or the alt regulator module). Just test it with a test bulb or a voltmeter is even better. Prob. not a good idea to connect your horn to it as it is unfused. |
