Well all i'm thinking of getting my 45 webber put on lil. I'm sick of mucking about with the su.. She is an 1100 at the mo. Should i? Or should i just get the 1/2"su sorted? Whats the general concensis? |

This will be a can of worms I'm sure , maybe put a poll on it as well but I'll say SU , I prefer them for their more even air/fuel ratio at different throttle openings to the webber . A little more fiddly but that just suits the mini's ..... |

it depends what you want from your car. su carbs are more economical, while webers, dellortos and solexs are more of a performance (thirsty ) carb. its up to you . |

1100? Where's the option for 40mm webber?? You'll get better economy, better torque mid range and it will be slightly cheaper |

38mm!!! i run 34's on my 45 in a 1152cc and I think it's abit big! run 32's or if you must 34's. The bigger the ventury the less torque... |

38 was a guess.. I'm handballing this one of to the local mini shop. If i get it done. the carb needs a full service anyhoo |

The only other carb I would consider over a sidedraft is a HIF44. They are great with the right manifold and will go just as hard as a webber, cept, again the fiddling. They have better pickup (apparently) than twins and are economical. That said my Dellorto 45 is still darn economical compared to say... my dunnydore!

**** 10.8! you are doing well! my dunnydore does 20L per 100km!, 18 at best!!! Lillee's on unknown mileage. first tank since I fixed the Odo. So far she's on approx 220km and there is at least still half a tank left... (35L tank) |

The last half always goes quicker though You think you have heaps but the bottom of the tank is a bugger - must be gravity...lol I can get 400 clicks from the 35 litre tank but that is stoppage on the side of the road though Hooroo Rob Forsyth |
