I was just wondering if you could get things powder coated in silver as a cheaper alternative to rechroming? would it look shiny?

Mightn't be as shiny, prolly give it a pretty dull finish.

As others have said. Go for electroplating. But by the time you do that, you may as well have them rechromed. Powdercoating is akin to spray-painting except they are electrically charged paint molecules. I had some wheel done in silver metallic and they look good, but it hardly compares with electroplating or chroming.

For rechroming - Astor metal finishes in Villawood (off woodville rd)

For electroplating - try the yellow pages, the really good place I have seen is in Melb.

For powdercoating - Link powdercoating in Kings Park (off vardy's rd).

Take them down to your local plater - rather than re-chroming they might just need electro polishing (cheaper as it just brightens up the original finish)
