Post subject:  Details/Info Needed - WADE CAMS

Can anyone tell me the details for this cam? ive searched thru my reciepts and have found that the cam was purchased from Northern Mini Parts. It seems to be a WADE CAMSHAFT as the grind number was written on a wade docket, with the grind number '104'.
Much help needed as i will need to 'dial' in this cam for another block im wanting to install it to.

Thanks

I won't be much help, but I remember this cam as a bit of a HOT road cam from some years ago. I had one in a Mk 1 Cooper and really liked it then.

The wade 104 is exactly what I have in my van.

I have the specs for it somewhere if yoyu get stuck. As I recall the exhaust is the same timing as the 731 works grind, but the lift and inlet timing is different.

Nice mid-range road cam, pulls from 2,000 to 6,000 in my 1132cc with a 12G295 head. Runs out of puff at 6,000, but maybe that's because it's a 1098 crank. :)

that sounds awfully familiar, 6k is high gear changing point in 3rd from experience  . But im pretty sure its a wade, i checked the site - yes, its fackin sh*thouse, but i downloaded this program, to do with all their profile grinds i put in the number, it finds a close grind, then u choose the make of the motor, and then it has all the details and figures, but im not convinced. chuck those details up if u find em bnicho! 8)

Hi,

Found the faded sheet of paper hiding the in the pages of How to Modify your Mini.

Wade 104 specs:

Exhaust Duration: 270 degrees

Inlet Timing: 25-65
Inlet Duration: 270 degrees

Lift at Lobe .282

Hope this helps.

Similar on paper (270* duration) but a lot less lift (only .338" at valve advertised with stock rockers, but I measured .320").
So, I put Toyota Corolla 1.46:1 rockers in to assist.:)

<edit> Tighe 104 and Wade 104 appear to be same timing & duration, but have different lift.
