Hi All,
finally got my van today!!!!
alas the wipers are verrry tempramental!
after alot of help from steve and calm advice i hosed the thing with wd40 as it hadn't been run that often which helped for a little while

my wipers will get to about halfway and stop until i nudge them and then start again...
most of the time they won't even budge... i checked the earth connection and the wiring from the switch to the motor but i dunno!
any advice?

I had a similar problem.. The wiper cable that comes out the top of the motor wasn't screwed all the way in.. might help to check that?

Try pulling apart wiper box it's self. Mine was full of some rather solid grease and muck and worked better once I had cleaned it up and re greased it

Haha yep sure did :D It wasn't light rain either.. I admit it got very scarey at some moments, all I could see was faint red brake lights in front of me, had to stick my head out the window to see.. Never again :!:

the wipers on my 850 van used to do that... they'd get half way across the screen and stall like it was too much effort to go the rest of the way - if I gave them a push they'd keep going.... When they did it half way to melbourne, I took the left hand one off and the right one worked fine after that...

I need a 2 speed wiper motor - if you don't get Brad's, can I buy it?

Is one able to fit a two speed wiper to an 850?

on closer inspection the one in my van is a 2 speed just wired to run at fastest speed... as for brads im going to pick it up tommorrow!

then into my dash lining 3 bolts (as steve said!) and go from there!

what sort of glue do people usually use for gluing linings to the body? as the backing behind my speedo is glued to the sides of the shell and ill need to remove and replace glue!
thanks,
- tom
