anybody go to the brissie one? i went yesterday and was disappointed as i am every year :P maybe i should stop going...the zonda was pretty cool...got a load of pics that i havent uploaded yet...will post them tonight...

i still reckon it'd be better to have a show that was JUST aftermarket jazz for cars..."aftermarket alley" at the motorshow was just some stupid bloody ICE stall...had a mini (clubman) that was loaded with sound gear...which was cool and sad at the same time...

I didn't go this year, but that mini was it yellow? There was a blue n' white round-nose at last yr's auto-salon loaded with ICE.

yep sure was...single seater (the passenger seat was occupied by the 2 or so amps powering the 4 massive subs that were in the back)...doorless too...looked like a nice clubman shell...kind of a waste doing that to it...but meh its not like its a roundnose ;) haha...flame away pplz :)

I went to the melbourne car show a few weeks ago only to find they no longer have the stalls showing off tyres, stereos, sunroofs, etc., and the commercial vehicles/ trucks/ campers used to have a bit too, but all is gone now.
I never really paid much attention to them, but I like to have a look none the less.

2 people voted just cars? its just the usual crap though...i paid $13 (student price) to see toyota and mazda in the same room...i could just go to the magic mile and see them next door to eachother :P i wanna see aftermarket stuff...i am almost never in the market for a new car...but am ALWAYS looking at ways to improve my current ride...

I went to the Brissy motorshow about 10-12 years ago and it was good , a couple of big halls of new cars etc a couple of halls of aftermarket stuff/accesories/models/you name it and a heap of car club displays with all manner of cars and stuff displayed . It was a really good mix and took a long time to get around everything . DOn't know if it's still the same or more aimed at the new cars only now .

Brissie show used to be about new cars and car clubs. Maybe 30 or forty clubs in all, i used to man the QMCC stand from time to time hoping to meet one of the old men with minis bricked in under their houses they wanted to be rid of..... 8)

In 95 they decided that car clubs weren't what the show was about, it distracted the punters from the business of buying new ones so they turfed out everyone except for one or two token car clubs and turned it into the pubescent wank fest it is now, and that was that.

I don't go anymore unless I am in the market for a new car and want to line up with the children to get in a car.

yeah i remember the good ol days too...we used to get the good cars as well...but we just get the dregs...whatever they can be bothered sending up this way...sydney gets all the good exotics...we are left with the standard fare...boring as hell...and almost no aftermarket stuff...and the admission is $16 for full adult tickets...wtf? thats so much for a glorified car dealer get-together...i want something that's worth the money...the only reason i go there is to see stuff i cant see anywhere else...and you get a bit of it...but if they also had aftermarket stuff like HKS, Apex'i, Brembo etc etc then i'd actually spend money at the show...
