Get a small peice of rubber hose, put it on the bleed nipple, open the bleeder, put the other end into the master cylinder, then start pumping, you won't spill or waste any fluid it will just circulate in the system, it should take long to bleed it this way. Doogie |

it must be faulty, normally u only need to pump up and bleed 3 times , or until its just pure fluid. did u check the cup is the right way |

Doogie Sounds stupid to me... I thought you have to let old fluid sit for about 24hrs till the tiny air bubbles are gone. Use new stuff, otherwise you're putting air straight back in.. |

So you replaced the master cylinder but the slave cylinder is still the old one and you still cant get it to pump up................................maybe it was not the master cylinder but the slave that is faulty just a thought Jon |

Probly just need to "prime" the cyl first, i always do it "off" the car first, fit a plastic bung/plug into the top , fit the cyl , then remove the bung/plug & fit the pipe,,,2 or 3 pumps later & it`s bled The clutch master cyl doesn`t have the "slow return valve" fitted like the brake cyls do,,,so you may find that every pump you make, simply returns the same when you take your foot off bringing back with it the same air you were pumping out,,,so,,,to prime it, you`ll need to open the pipe/nipple, push peddle down, lock up the pipe/nipple, then release the pedal,,,then open the pipe/nipple, push peddle down, close pipe/nipple, then take your foot off again etc etc etc. That way each time you release the pedal no air can come back up the lines back into the cyl each pump. Once you have fluid moving, then use the nipple on the slave only, & then -> put foot to floor& just very quickly "Open-shut" the nipple to only let a tiny bit out, do this a few times & Bob should be your Aunty |

well the saga continues i have now pulled the master cylinder apart as well as the slave cylinder i even filled both with fluid before reassembly, the frist two presses of the pedal were fine the it went back to nothing and started pumping air again so now ive pulled the old master cylinder apart given it a clean and i may just pinch the seals from the new one and see if that works and the slave cylinder is about 6 months old the only old part in the system now is the metal pipe and yes i agree the supercheap one man bleeders are great i have two of them any way off to pull it apart again ta all Peter. |
