Hey guys

I have a spare Lucas Starter motor that I am rebuilding, I am chasing new bushes and brushes for it.

Does anyone know a website I can get them from?

It is for the M35 Lucas jobby.

Cheers in Advance

I'm not sure myself but if you get absolutely desperate and you know or see someone from Pirtek ask them where they get there van mounted 12 volt grinders rebuilt , they are a lucas starter motor the same physical size and shape as a mini one with a cutoff disc mounted on a shortened shaft . Somebody has to have remanufactured them for them .....

Ashdowns are the largest auto-electrical retailer. I know they have onlline facilties because all the autolecky's buy stuff of them but I dontif they sell to non account holders or non autolecky trades people.

They have all you need for a lucas 35 starter motor as i recently had one reco'ed by a lecky and he had to order in the stuff.

try www.ashdown.com.au (it will be something similar if not that)

Brushes are to be had over the counter usually from your standard local auto sparky for less than 30 Australian crap bits.

I doubt your bushes will need to be done though, they don't really wear out as they are used so very little in the lifespan of the car.

I used to fit new brushes etc but I don't mess with old s/h starters any more. When they go belly up I get either a UK factory rebuilt one from Karcraft, or a NEW pre-engaged aftermarket Mini one from MG Heritage Spare Parts. ~$165 or so.
