Gday all

i have replaced the fuel pump on cracker (electric) because the engine was being starved of fuel and it seemed as though the old fuel pump wasnt working but when i went to start it still the same problem the engine was being starved of fuel again. there is definetly fuel in the tank, there is no blockages anywhere between the tank and the pump, the carby works fine and the starts engine when i give it petrol manually. the only things i can think of are an electrical fault, blocked fuel filter (that i cant find anywhere!) or a blocked fuel line between the pump and the carby. can you give me some advice please as i have no other ideas.

No fuel comes out of the line at all at the top near the carby.
I cant find the fuel filter anywhere- i have followed the line from the tank to the carby
The fuel pump isnt pumping fuel or trying to

so i am guessing it is an electrical fault of sorts

any ideas much appreciated

Cheers

There is a strainer on the end of fuel line in tank, could be blocked with crud.
Also check the little breather hose from top of tank (in boot) is not blocked.

So the pump isn't running? Have you measured the current to it? I have a 12V dry cell battery which I connect up with small jumper leads to power components to eliminate causes of gremlins. Try borrowing a multimeter and tracking down where the system falls over. Maybe fit an external fuel filter while you're down there.
