josh it is either 2 or 3 selftappers each side with a bolt head on it undo then ..... but if you wish to remove the whole rad there are two bolts under the rad which attachit to the subframe ... good luck ![]() makka |

Big hammers and little hammers are not good tools of trade for aspiring mechanics - particularly on mini engines under the bonnet. Take the shroud off by taking out the side nut/screws and do it properly - its time consuming but not hard. |

but nowhere near as satisfying...nothing like beating the metal to a pulp whan all goes wrong...then hurling the offending part yard-ward!! The best thing I did with the rad was change the mini subframe mount for a 1300 mount - one bolt and it pivots...allows you to get to all those self tappers... Hooroo Rob Forsyth Miniot!! |

mine just had 6 little philips head screws holding the surround to the radiator - very easy to come off but you may have clearance issues with it still being in the car. rad out sounds the way to go - i think theres a how-to somewhere on here aint there? ![]() |

With stock fan shroud you need to take the top 1/2 off to get the rad out anyway. I slot the bottom rear hole in the top shroud, so I don't have to take that screw right out (the one 1/2 way down at back of rad)- just unscrew a couple of turns and lift shroud. The stock bottom rad bracket, I leave the rear rad bolt out. It's too bloody hard to get to anyway. Never had an issue with it since. ![]() |

Thanks guys i've played with it a bit, pulled out the screws and shifted it all then put the screws back in and it seems to be ok. Fingers crossed it does all fall apart the first bump i go over. Josh |
