i was just wondering what are the main differences between english minis and australian ones. i wanna know everything. what makes are aussie and what are english. the only thing i know is we had 16 blade fans and they had 4 or 8.(but i'm not sure if even that is right) how are ours made for aussie conditions? what was changed? in other words... "what's the difference?" |

![]() The simple answer is that ALL OZ built Minis are based on the original MK1 type body shell with the external hinges, even the ones with the clubman front. UK built cars come in MK 1, 2 and 3 and 4? type body shells. MK 2 cars had a larger rear window and clubman type tail lights but external hinges. MK 3 cars had wind up windows, internal door hinges and basically a different side with the window openings going up to the roof gutter. MK 4 don't know. Plus all sorts of mechanical variations and combinations. That's it in a nutshell RonR |

The "Mini Experience" magazine ran an article with photos about the differences between the minis we commonly see here in Australia. The differences between british and Oz minis that is. PM Watto and ask him to sell and post a back issue of that magazine to you. Better still get an copy of all back issues and sucribed for all the new issues. |
