Yes it is true, they are made by Ken Elder & Sons in Sydney. Available from Graham Russell too. Here's a pic of one with injection... |

heheh, probably still taking less time to build the bmw head than it would take to earn the money to buy a kad 16 valve!!! |

That looks great, what a neat engine bay. Does anyone know what sort of power the head adds? Dan |

That engine bay in the photo is in the ute owned by Dean Canto. you can read all about the ute in Issue 4 of The Mini Experience. Engine built by Graham Russell, with fuel injection and that Elder head, apparently putting out around 165bhp with 150 lb/ft of torque. Pretty goos for an A-series, and goes like stink. I know - Dean took me for a ride in it. Wow! Cheers, Watto. ![]() |

We ran one of those Elder heads on a 1360 last year at Graham Russell's ausmini dyno day. It was on twin Webers (and an RE282 cam I think), power was a bit less than Dean's but I can't remember exactly. 145HP at crank? (proper Heenan & Froude engine dyno, not a rolling road). |
