I have a 1964 850 van that I will be restoring to original down the track and am interested in finding any reference material that will point me in the right direction to make sure it is completely original. I need everything from what the interior would have been to badging. Books, web sites, etc, any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ziff,

As I said on the phone, not a lot of info. out there on the vans, particularly the early smooth roof sliding window ones, I know of one other, a light green (saxon I think) this has the same green trim in it as an early 850, the second style, mottled lizard / croc style texture. I can show you on my 850 sometime. Even then, I cannot be sure that this was not changed at some point? (unlikely however). There were at least three disitnct 850 types of trim, 4 with the later commercial / Mini Minor trim.

Do you have Mini Downunder (Book) by Pedr Davis, there is some stuff in there?

Your best bet is probably other early van owners! 8)

Thanks Graham, I'll look into that book. I'm going to have to clear my schedule and start getting out to more Mini days I think :)
Pity I couldn't get down to Penrith the other weekend
