Post subject:  Mini Dimensions

Hey..
Does anyone know the dimensions of a shell (roundnose) WITHOUT bumpers? I've managed to find that they are 120.251 in | 3054.4 mm, but i assume that this is with bumpers etc..
I ask this because on the weekend Im building a wall to turn half to 3/4 of our rumpus room back into a garage. ...I'd like it all to be garage, but the boss would like a small rumpus room still.. so, thats the deal... but i'd like to make it able to fit 2 minis (one shell and one complete)
I'm restricted by the width to 2.8m, and was wondering if a shell with no bumpers may fit across this (I'd be able to somehow get it in there sideways i hope? :? Or do you think i'd need to make it just over 6m long and lose some more points with the wife by making her rumpus room smaller?

Also would like to be able to fit a larger car ie. commodore in the shed (on its own) if we had to.
Any other ideas would be appreciated, surely im not the onlyone trying to work out how to fit more mini;s in the shed :P

Cheers,

Andy

Sorry Andy,

bumpers just aren't that big. You won't get a shell in there sideways.
Shrink the rumpus room :!:

If the mini is 3.05m long with bumpers on and you have 2.8m to play with, removing the bumpers wont give you an extra 25cm.

Removing bumpers might give you a combined saving of 10 to 15cm at the most. (probably closer to a saving of 5cm to 10cm)

I agree. Removal of bumpers will shorten the overall length by less than 100mm - the bumper bar mounting flange is half as wide as the bumpers, and the headlights are almost level.. 50mm would be a better guess..

It is definately not impossible though..... I know a way to make a mini to fit into a 2.8m space, you will need to do THIS modification.....

Fits sideways in my 2.8m wide shed, and leaves a walkway behind it too

When my new shed gets built, i'm allowing room for a hoist so that I can have 1 car on top and 2 others underneath....... and a mezanine floor above the other half (workshop/spraybooth) for storage 8)
