the other day i decided to fill up with Mobil Synergy 98octane etc
it made the engine a little rough and throbbed more
i switched back to BP Ultimate no problems, smoother and quieter than ever
but then again, this arvo Steve told me my engine's retarded (please read Retarded Engine)

please elaborate on what happened with what fuel

Yeah i put in Mobile Synergy 8000 and NEVER AGAIN! I had really bad flat spots, it would back fire, run rough. I thought my engine was "done" until i topped up on BP Ultimate again and all my problems suddenly dissapeared...

I dunno, maybe it was a bad batch but I've always liked BP Ultimate from my Commodore days. I always top up on Optimax now for the Bombodore and it's great for the V6, not sure about the mini... never tried...

Could it be that Mobile has some additives that mini's don't like? I dunno...

Ran mine on Mobil 8000 the last couple of weeks, it went like a shell- just filled it with BP Ultimate, it's running OK but... just not `quite' the same..
Both are good fuels in my car...
