Probably another noob question. Hopefully I'll run out of these kind of questions soon. This may be an extremely stupid question buit I was just curious can you put clubby doors onto an 850 or don't they fit??

The short answer is no.

The hinges and front edge of the door is the same, but the rear edge and latching mechanism is completely different. Worst of all, the B pillar is a different shape and cannot be easily modified to take the later doors.

If you want a roundnose front with Clubby doors, look for a '71 Mini K. They came from the factory that way. :)

Later roudy doors fit on sliding window door bodies without drama's , the problem is the clubman doors had burstproof latches (a whole new argument ....) with very different striker plates on the B pillar/door frame . You could theoretically cut up a clubbie to get the section of the B pillar required but it'd be much easier to fit the wind up roundie doors , plus you won't have every mini "expert" telling you your cars wrong and it shouldn't have those doors .....

I put sliding doors on my Deluxe, Looks good, But what a pain in the arse. My 850 had wind-ups. But the clubbie doors are totaly differant (more safe) but differant as stated.
