Ive got a guy that has an 1100 engine for sale as well as a rod change gearbox. He has just dropped it out of his car and is willing to sell it to me. All I know is that I think it's stock and it was running when he took it out of his car. He said he only just bought it off another guy recently for around $600 but he mentionedhe'd sell it to me ofr $400 should I take him up on it or how much should I offer him for it?? I have no idea but i don't want to get ripped off so a ballpark figure would be good.

Go $300 and let him dictate the price from there. If he counters, halve the difference again.

Ultimately it is up to you but $300 would be a good deal all round. Never pay face value...lol

IMHO
