gday all... due partly to the fact that we're moving south to Bunbury later in the year I'll most likely be needing to sell the mini to buy something more suited to driving up to 100km each way on the highway to work and back - if I was on my own I could handle the distance, but i need to car-pool to cover the fuel cost and i'm guessing the passengers wouldn't like the trip in the mini. the decision to sell is much easier after not driving it for a coupla weeks - time to forget how much fun it is... its been sitting for a while and i drove it wednesday and started thinking i'll need to find a way to keep it... ![]() but anyway, the plan is to spend the next few months removing the tiny spot of what looks like rust and fixing trolley dents and fixing the poor panel prep that the last owner didn't do before he painted it and getting it to mint condition so I can sell for a decent price. The thing I'm not sure about is: being a completely genuine mk2 S, I'm not sure whether it would be economical to return it to stock, or leave it much quicker than a stocky and hand over a box of the original stuff in the deal (twin SU's, extractors and a few other things...). The mods its got are 45mm weber, 290* cam, 1.5:1 roller tips, lightened flywheel, pulsar dizzy, maniflow lcb and a coupla other things. to change it back, I'd need to recon the SU's and changing the engine back to stock could cost a bit too. is modded likely to sell for much of a different price than stock??? also I've seen a few for sale lately for >$20K - i know you can ask any price you like but does anyone know if buyers are paying that much these days??? Keep the mods, and supply the original part. IMHO that will fetch you the best price. |

Don't sell it , unless you really have too , a good original Cooper S will be worth big dollars in years to come ...... |

Get finance on a new car, try your best not to sell it, you will regret it in the long run. It's an investment!!! |

yep, don't sell it, buy a cheap corolla or something for the carpool, or explain to the other carpoolers and offer to pay fuel money instead of using your car - work somethng out, but you don't want to be one of those people who say "I had a Cooper S, I had to sell it cos of <insert lame reason here>, regretted it all my life" don't sell! |
