OK Ok I'm thinking of going the Vtec route. Less than 12 months ago (and less than 300 km ago) I had the Mk11 Cooper S motor in my car completly striped and rebuilt. New pistons, just about evey nut and bolt renewed, every bearing renewed and every gasked renewed. Dr Mini can fill in the bits about the cam and rockers and probably give a little more info about the motor. 45mm webber and extractors. lightened flywheel, heavy duty clutch. Gearbox could probably do with an overhall (though it gives me no trouble). Has a cone type Limited SLip Diff, as good as new. roughly what's it worth?????? Purchaser can drive car prior to purchase and engine removal. Just adding up my pennies to see if it can be done. |

Yeah, I sort of know that but a rough idea would be nice ![]() Other Info - engine is 9FXEY Comes with oil cooler, petronix ignition, auxillary radiator to help with cooling (actually a passat heater core mounted at front plumbed into cooling system - works a treat) and low oil pressure engine cut out switch. The LSD has the universal joint output shafts. Any more info needed?? |

Head is ported a fair bit, rockers are forged Cooper S with offset bushes (gives a bit more lift), cam is a Kent MD286. It's 1380cc, pistons were Powermax, not sure what Oz put in this time. ![]() |

Seeing how the gearbox wasn't rebuilt when the motor was done, I'd would factor that as a risk and take into account that as a 1380 it doesn't have too many more rebuilds left in it. I feel that I'd be offending you with what I'd be prepared to pay for it because it is nowhere near what you've spent on it. Enjoy the A series I say. ![]() |

Enjoy the A series I say. ![]() Gearbox was rebuilt (by me) not long before Oz got it, shortly after that he had a piston problem, so honed it and changed them for new ones. |

Graham Russell can often sleeve 1380s back to 1275. So there's hope yet. ![]() |
