Post subject: | How To.... |
I had had a few PM's asking how I built my dash and if they can get the plans. (I will start this and it will need to be edited when i get how this afternoon as I have images there to put in). BTW thanks to those for inspiration and Marvin for his pm help.. 1. download http://www.wannop.karoo.net/mini/dash/y ... 20dash.doc 2. out of a thin piece of MDF (3 or 6mm) cut the above pattern/template (do not include the shallow ashtray) - I used a Linisher (a bench mounted long belt sander) as this got me nice smooth edges it is very hard to get a straight edge with a jigsaw 3. push this in between your top and bottom dash pads (it will not fit as everyone's car is different - using a steel rule measure up and down at various points to that you would need to sand to to make it fit. - (USE VENTILATION PROTECTION - MDF WILL KILL U) 4. trace this template onto a piece of 12mm MDF ... Then fix your tracing up with the measurements you took from step 3. Cut/sand your MDF down to size. 5. fit between your dash pads again and make any alterations from there. 6. put a 45 degree bevel along the sides and top of the back of your panel to make it fit in. 7. ......to be continued in an edit as i need measurments off the mini at home plus thee is a storm coming and i need to get the laptop to the car ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
