I doubt anybody here has neighbours as bad as our. They were pretty bad before but last sunday topped it off. Iv'e been having some ignition problems with the mini lately and on sunday I was fiddling around with it and had to take it for a few test drives, as you do. Anyway, just got back from going round the block and a cop car pulls up. He nearly defected my car for noise pollution and about fifty other minor problems but said because it was parked on my property and he didn't catch me driving it he couldn't. I knew it was the neighbours across the street that called the cops. I know it doesnt sound that bad but theyve done a lot worse. They got my brothers car defected for being too noisy, every time we have a few friends over they call the cops or have a go at us. Then there was the time when he bashed my brother because apparently he got a bit of wheel spin when he left for work one morning!!!! We got him up for assault on that one!!! so now I have to quieten down the mini and never have a party again.
If anyone can top that for the worst neighbours than let me know what could be much worse!!!!! Anybody got any good revenge ideas?? i was thinking egging early in the morning before a hot sunny day

Get a quieter exhaust then you'd never get defected - might even buy one for your bro.

I had a neighbour threaten me, with what he told me was a real gun while he was at my front door. Told me his wife was a cop.

Cops searched his unit after I went to the station and gave them a statement. Found a replica gun and a fake badge.

His lease was terminated because of his little stunt.

Buy them a slab (or whatever they drink) and put a note on it suggesting that you have noted the complaint and will endeavour to do domething about it, then during the night diconnect their brake lights and call the cops.

We got a bad neighbours too. My mother for example had her 50th so there were plenty of cars around loud music all the general party stuff, however, we notified the neighbours up to 3 across and 2 up we're on a corner. Party stopped around 1:30 and next thing we know theres a note glued to our front door saying "next time i break windows loud music i break your windows" in the worst grammar ever....then we used to thank god have a lady who cut down our trees even if they weren't pretruding into her property. We had cops everything involved but here's nothing they can do unless they catch you or them in action.

as for revenge its best serve cold .....anything that causes lots of expense to the bad neighbours is all good

if you live on a hill you could just roll in your car down to the bottom and start it up there. I
'm gonna be doing that when i leave late at night or early in the morning.

Noisy cars (and especially noisy bikes - Harley's) piss me off. There is exhaust noise pollution, and then there is a nicely set up engine / exhaust that is neither too noisy, or too sedate.

Some people don't realise that just because YOU don't go to bed until 11pm, it DOESN'T mean that otehrs aren't asleep. Our kids are in bed by 7pm, and it only takes one tosser with a big exhaust (that probably makes his / her car run like shite) to wake them up. Years ago I worked shift work and would sleep all morning. Just because YOU are up and at it, doesn't mean EVERYONE else is.

Same goes for old people.....most go to bed early, and like to enjoy the peace and quiet that an evening should bring.

I love my neighbourhood, and I love my house, but we get the odd dickwad who will flog it up the street, just to check if his dick is still there

So if you MUST test drive your car to make sure it is properly set up, appreciate the fact that you SHARE your street with many others. Take the car around the corner / down the road / where ever, to make sure it is running right.

This is directed to all, not just you Snowie.

:D

Or buy in a neighbourhood like mine with a very busy street and intersection. You can FANG your car as much as you want because if you don't every other hoon in the neighbourhood does it anyway, every 3 mins, all night long, money back garantee.

To fix your problem, get your neighbour to fall in love with minis. Invite them around for a barbie and take em for a spin in your mini. If he gets addicted and buys one, problem solved

Yeah I understand that. The thing I hate is that they don't talk to us about it. Instead of coming over and saying, hey can you be a bit quieter or turn the music down please, they come over screaming and swearing their heads off at us or call the cops straight away. Even the cops said they should try to resolve the problem with us before invloving them. And beating up a skinny 18 year old (my brother) when your a 30 something big built guy, I don't care who woke u up and when it was, thats no excuse for hitting someone. [/quote]

I live in an area with about 40+ small unit house things together, and very often you'll hear people singing and yelling and carrying on at all hours of the day. Us included  :D, we arent that bad though .
The other week at about 220 am, a group of about 6-8 blokes, walked up the street absolutley screaming out Christmas Carols, people were yelling around at 4am a few days ago, and im 99% sure that a few units up, people play cricket inside in their garage at all early hours of the morning. I dont mind, i think its funny, some dont, and shouldnt.

My mini fits into the as Mr JAM "there is a nicely set up engine / exhaust that is neither too noisy, or too sedate." So i can't really go and play tricks in my car early in the morning.
