So went for the periodic cooper thrash and noticed a bit of blue/grey smoke form the exhaust when i got back. Now i must say i did give the old girl a good hard hit but didnt rev her too high. So im thinking the rings are worn any advice or ideas. I guess this isnt a cheap fix so what am i looking at to get this fixed. Thanks all sam |

First thing I would do is reco the head. It may or may not fix the problem, but if you are rebuilding an engine, you have to do it anyways. ![]() |

The head has been fully reconditioned not not too long ago. i have been inforned it may have something to do with the brake booster causing the smoke. Any experience with this anyone. Sam |

Very well could be the problem, If you have a PCV valve, that may have an old diafram, and especally if there is a lack of breathers on the engine, Old can be sucked up the crankcase and blow through the mainfold. If you didnt plum up the booster properly, it can happen. |
