Post subject:  blue/grey smoke maybe rings??

So went for the periodic cooper thrash and noticed a bit of blue/grey smoke form the exhaust when i got back.
Now i must say i did give the old girl a good hard hit but didnt rev her too high.

So im thinking the rings are worn any advice or ideas.
I guess this isnt a cheap fix so what am i looking at to get this fixed.

Thanks all

First thing I would do is reco the head. It may or may not fix the problem, but if you are rebuilding an engine, you have to do it anyways. 8)

The head has been fully reconditioned not not too long ago.
i have been inforned it may have something to do with the brake booster causing
the smoke.
Any experience with this anyone.

Very well could be the problem, If you have a PCV valve, that may have an old diafram, and especally if there is a lack of breathers on the engine, Old can be sucked up the crankcase and blow through the mainfold. If you didnt plum up the booster properly, it can happen.
