Carpet for the mini???
I prefer Moulded Carpet - ie Knox 25%  25%  [ 2 ]
I prefer the Flat Pack Option - ie Brickworx (ebay) 63%  63%  [ 5 ]
I like the Brazillian Option - No Carpet at all 0%  0%  [ 0 ]
I have no idea and would choose Brazillian because it sounds sexy 13%  13%  [ 1 ]

I am sorry I am probably dredging up a million year old post but I am in the market for some black carpet for the beast...
But I have the dilemma of moulded carpet
http://www.knoxautocarpets.com.au/
or
not moulded carpet
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Mini-Carpet-Kit- ... dZViewItem

......Who has installed either of these? I guess I am trying to work out a list of Pro's and Con's - as it will look like a $300+ (1*flat pack or moulded with all underlay) exercise and I don't want to make a wrong move.

Could you please help...
Cheers Gerard

JAM has 2 piece moulded set that I pulled from a wreck (it was new). It fits well and I like it. Piss easy to fit, and with no gaps you don't get crud slipping through the edges and building up under the carpet / underlay.

But.....those 9 piece sets look much better in a Mini.

For a daily hack I would have 2 piece moulded, for a show car or original resto I would have 9 piece.

Watch the fluffy carpet stuff you can get in moulded, it balls up and looks crap very quickly.
Also the fluffy stuff is like a venus fly trap when it comes to grass, it traps it and won't let it go.
Loop pile is the go and 9 piece looks much better.

P.S. You can now get the origianal carpet clips that were factory fitted to the carpets to keep them in place, these are particularly prized on Cooper S resto's.

I bought an ebay carpet (minisport sa) and it was a fluffy acrylic sort of fabric, felt terrible and I could see it wasn't going to last long, also I wanted a loop pile, so I sent it back... in exchange for something else

dad is going to knox to pick up one of their kits - "The Toolman" recommends them...
