How hard do you think it would be to convert an Innocenti to RHD?

Move the pedal box and the master cyls over. Put RHD steering rack in. Anything else??????

Change headlights to RHD pattern.
Change door handles so that one with lock is on driver's side.
Modify wiring to steering column so it reaches new location.
Move heater hoses over (if fitted)

+ Shift ancilliary gauges (where fitted) & new front carpets (rubber floor pad will be on the wrong side).

Oh, and you only have to shift 1 master cyl ?
The other one is on the right side with an extended pedal linkage - from memory :?

Well the picture someone had of an innocenti had some guages in front of the driver these would have to be moved over to the other side IF you could find a RHD version of the dash I guess you could do it. Innocenti dashes would be hard to find and RHD ones even harder IMO.

On the other hand if it is like the another innocenti picture in the gallery it has the centre guages similar to a K or Cooper S so you wouldn't have to change it at all.

That binnacle ^ looks like it could be inverted & used for RHD.
Just rotate the gauges 180 degrees. Maybe???

The top one ? it looks like it is moulded towards the firewall so rotating it 180 degrees would have the guages pointing at the floor I think????

You could I guess take a mould then chop the mould up and reverse the guages around how you want them and then take a cast or whatever from it but lotsa work...
Quite likely you could sell a few afterwards though :D

How about leaving it LHD? If it's over 30 years old it can go on full rego in all states still in LHD.
What a head turner, a LHD Mini! :D

I dont like changing gears with my right hand.

I could always cast an inverse binacle in fibregalss and readjust the way the instrumnets face and leave it where it is.hmmm....

so get an auto one  (joking)

the mustang converters would say to cut the pods into sections, one for each guage, then swap them to where you want them and araldite them back together... might work with that one

OR you could leave it as is and move it all the way to the right so that the speedo and tacho are right in front of you, with one guage on the right hand side and 3 on the left still. Might need to space it out from the firewall but I'm sure that would work..

planning on importing one?

Leave it LHD-It's more "valuable" in it's orginal condition. You don't have to put LHD stickers
on them now. Plus you can put the window down in traffic jams and talk to the driver alongside you...Sure makes them look twice :!: :!:

You still need an engineers certificate after you do the conversion to get it road registered in Oz.

I've just enquired to the RTA about getting my LHD Moke registered on historic rego. It was once an Aussie RHD drive Moke (so all other ADR's comply) which was converted to LHD.

Why convert it to LHD.............I hear you ask?? Because it was a very simple conversion with a LHD rack and it's been a fun Club car for many years

It's now eligible for historic rego and I'd thought it'd be something different..........a LHD Moke on the road. Just need a engineers cert.
