Can anyone tell me I got a set of new brake and clutch master cylinders (plastic type) and they didn?t seem to fit in there appropriate spot until I swapped them. Are they the same thing or are they different? I hope this makes sense??can anyone help?

Doing some surfing on the net it looks like they have to go in back to front.

Do you mean like one should face forward and one face back?

um no they are the shorter ones, but I think that?s how they will have to be mounted.

Yeah, that's what I meant I suppose, these are the origianl type for mine, and I think the new ones you may have are slightly different in design. Same job though..

Mounted with both facing the firewall will drive you crazy trying to get the brake fluid into the resevoirs without spilling any on the flash looking paintwork.

on a closer look i found min/max lines on the back so i figured this is the way that it fits an early model mini, i don't know just guessing :?

Yes that is the way original tin tank ones were too, they were handed like these new ones so you cannot mix them up.
Good idea, considering the number of Minis out there that had 0.7" Clubby brake MCs incorrectly used on clutches instead of proper 0.75" ones.... and people wondering why they had clutch throwout probs.:x

 If you want to save your paintwork, just carry a small plastic funnel...
