look what I made :D

Image

the early clubman hubcap just happens to have 12 slots, and 12 matching raised bits... I haven't stuck numbers on yet, the ones I bought are too big, but maybe I'll leave them off

PM me if you want one, I have some spare hubcaps ;)

next one I'm going to make is out of a K fascia, turn the 90mph speedo face into a clock, and keep the oil and temp guages in it - sweeet

yep, I'm Simon... (Duc?)

I had a similar moral dilemma, but at least it'll remind me never to actually get a whole car

Looks good , I've been thinking of doing a similar one to the K type you mentioned but I'm trying to find a thermometer to replace the temp guage and a barometer to replace the oil pressure guage . Just trying to find the right sized instruments is the problem at present .

yeah, I stole it in the first place.. a mate of mine who lives around the corner did it a few years ago

I bought the bits at spotlight cost about $18 all up - mechanism, hands and numbers that are too big, but you can buy them on ebay cheaper

yeah, I thought the same, but hunting them out would be too much effort so I thought I'd just go with the clock by itself.... but if you ever do find a nice replacement, buy 2 of each ;)

You should be able to get mechanisms from places like Dick Smiths or Jaycar Electronics or even craft shops.
I bought a whole clock from one of those $2 shops for about ... let me see ... $2, then took out the mechanism to use on something else.
