I can get my grubby little hands on a pair of clear rover tail lights. Just need to know if they fit right in, before i get them.
Jan, maybe u know more about this... doesnt mutant have them?

If anyone else has them fitted to their mini, let me know.

Clear lens won't fit straight into a Clubby. You will have to change the whole rear light assembly.

Sorry.

rob with the turbo clubby fitted rover lights straight onto his car and did not have to make any mods to the car so i think it is a myth

Are you talking lens only makka? or swapping over the entire backing assembly as well [assuming that fits without modification to the body sheel]
I think Jan was saying just a lens swap is incompatable

I have some MK 1 lenses that are almost clear..... They just need a couple more years sitting in the sun and they will be ready!

I have some clear front blinkers for a round nose

You can buy second hand whole light assemblies for Rovers from Northern Mini Parts.

From ebay. I bidded on a set in UK and was heartbroken when they went for 20 pounds; one pound over my proxy limit.
Two weeks later, i got a second chance offer for my 19 pound bid.
Im waiting on a reply from the seller about cost of postage to AUS.

Cant wait.

What do you plan to do when you get a defect from the cops for the clear tail light lens?

No its not illegal. Its only illegal if there is no red reflector on it and that the emmiting light MUST be red, or orange, depending on what signal is used.

Don't worry; ive checked these things out! 8)
