According to the Mini Car Clinic "Bible" (settle Morris1100)....there are two different part numbers: DRY 21A392 R/H (LATER NAM7162) 21A393 L/H (LATER NAM7163) WET 21A1485 R/H 21A1489 L/H The Trumpet/Displacer ball seat is removable.....so can you use either Radius Arm interchangeably 
I have a wet subframe and want to use dry radius arms (cause I have em at hand  )

I belive that the distance from the pivot axis to the middle of the ball cup is different from dry to hydro. That changes the lever ratio and leads to dry arms pushed by hydro displacers having too low a wheel rate and the car laying ot its bum. Or am I FOS? The Doc will know. M |

OK there are a few differences- The ratio on the wet ones is a bit different but justminis says they will still work with dry bits. The dry ones have the brake line on top not side like wet does. The wet ones have a different stub axle pressed in, to take the helper springs. They also have a platform on top for the bumpstops. Mick, for a wet car I would get wet arms...

Yep....no platform for bumpstops on the dry....and brake line on top for wet....and of course helper springs on wet and shocks on dry.....thanks....looks like I change tack on the repair front

I was going to use wet trailing arms on my dry subframe with dry suspension so that I could also use the rubber bumpstop from the hydro setup..... I dont want my rear wheels hitting my sportspack arches.... Is this going to be an issue? Is it easier to just relocate the brake line on a dry trailing arm?? |

This is what i have fitted to spare body in the shed (dry sub, wet arms). With the rest of the dry suspension fitted, the body sits on the wheels. If you were doing this intentionally you will need hilos. (and you would need to check that these will extend out far enough.) Its a pretty good dry frame Mick  and a good price if you can wait.

Its a pretty good dry frame Mick and a good price if you can wait.Cheers, Ian Thanks for the offer....I will only need the arms.....but I will need to get some sort of hub thing happening fairly soon ..... so the thing isn't "stuck on the jacks". I know where there is a good dry subframe to hold the body up in the shed
Thinking it might be worthwhile waiting for your return though for those arms ....will let you know

Is this going to be an issue? Is it easier to just relocate the brake line on a dry trailing arm?? as long as you use hilos with the wet trailing arms you'll be right if you do get dry arms, there's no need to relocate the brake line on the dry arms, the hydro subframe has the holes for the alternate position |

Just a thought- if putting wet arms on a dry car, you will have to arrange a lower shock mount.... there is no thread there on a wet arm. |

Ever removed and pressed in a replacement stub axle Doc.... is there a taper arrangement or some such.... I initially thought I might have a go at this using a press....

No there is no taper, they are a parallel press fit. Good luck removing after 40 years... or finding a new stub. Meh, just cut it off flush, tap it squarely to 3/8" UNF, fit a nice new Grade 8 stud, Loctited in.

I appreciate the offer though. I will be looking at a couple of whole hydro subbies over the weekend. The beauty of this solution is I may end up with a complete set of spare displacers ("bags")....keep smiling
