Hi I have two spare holes in my dash I was supose to call a guy from the NSW MCC ages ago but never got around to it. however was looking at my options and I've come across a dual water and oil temp and are these mechcanical type ?l smiths gauge are these any good or are smiths overpriced and overrated? now I've lost my licence im thinking aestestics not power for my lil beast of a LS. Also if i did get dual what should I fill the other one with? I was thkinking voltmetre? whats peoples opinion ? |

There good gauges the dual type, theres a few usually for sale on ebay but most need the temp gauge capillary tube replaced, this costs between $140-$180 to get repaired, You can buy them new from Hardimans at Milperra for around $300 i think. Go the Smiths woltmeter too, nice gauge & usefull unlike a amp meter. Doogie |

I have this set up in the van as derscribed by doogie. It's very handy having the voltmeter and the dual oil pressure/ water temp guage is great. Cheers Aaron |

Thanks guys that setup will go nicely iewth my 3 gauge setup and my vacuum gauge already fitted. I was thinking that that would be the best option. now to think and get them. also various other estestic goodies.....im thinking window winders new led interior light window seals all by october i think it is when theres that mini day in penrith? ohh and of course some touch up paint and cut n polish to top it off ohhh thepain of waiting to get it all done but it'll be worth every penny |

if you want it to look like a period piece then grab yourself a set of smith's guages. if your not too fussed about that sorta stuff cruise on ebay and have a look. if your not going smith's grab a set of electric guages. this means you will never end up with your dashboard squirting hot oil at you (had it happen). I personally would grab an oil pressure guage and a vlotmetre. but to be different grab a boost guage and stick it in you intake manifold. make your passangers think you have a turbo and NOS. go easy on the cu and polish soe of it causes more damage than it's worth. |

Heritage MG sells an oil and temp guage in one bought on the other day about $250 |
