Thanks Skssgn, yeah it was certainly a fun ride, would love to do it again, just that my new car now doesn`t conform, having trouble trying to convice them that it`s not as fast as Jim Richards`s Porsche,,,"Too Modified" is their reasoning. & i`ve allready sole the old Targa car (sux hey?) hope you all enjoy the write up |

A great read Matt. You've got to love the Tasmanians, their superb roads, their hospitality and passion for tarmac rallying. I too was bitten by the rally bug and have driven in Rally Tasmania for the past 9 years, but not in the Mini. What I can't understand though, is why after spending megadollars on everything else you used such a mundane set of tyres

hee hee,,,yeah ,don`t think they`d let me race that one in Targa 9Y- & good one Curly, i`d love to do it again but they`re saying my new car is "Too modified"  ah well,,,you get that, & to answer the tyre thing---> i had set that car up to suit 13" wheels/tyres after hearing about Yokohama making some AO48R specs in 175/50/13" size, so i was pretty tickled & was told that i`d get them in time, well,,,i didn`t, simple as that They arrived about 2 weeks "After" the rally had finished , we had to use something & just sticking 10s back on was not an option after all the work setting it all up for 13s,,,major work i mean!!!, you really have to see this suspension assys to appreciate it & truely is the very best handling 13" wheel`d mini i`ve ever driven. (even if i do say so myself but then i might also be a little biased
