Post subject: | Found my original books |
After spraying the car and taking everything out of the car, under the back seat was the original log books. Has service history from new, and to my amazement it has only done a genuine 59,000 kms. Not bad for 350 bucks. Car is nearly finished, just waiting on some chrome boot hinges to arrive, and the front seats, and half the car to cut and polish and it will be on the road. Bought a long range tank from brickworx today, so no more filling up as often. P.S. In the service history book it has a mileage test from its last service which said 48mpg, after they had done their maths. So what I want to know is how many kms will I get to a 35litre tank approx. ? Thanks, steve. |

I have a very good 998 with HIF38 carb. I get 250km per 20L of fuel. That's pretty good I reckon. |

48mpg = 5.88 L/100km (litres per 100km) 5.88 L/110km = 17.1 km per litre 17.1km per litre x 35 litres = 598.5 kilometers per tank. ![]() |

Of course you will never get 48mpg unless you drive like a granny and do all of your driving on freeways at 60kph. I would expect 35-40mpg with a standard car that is well tuned and driven carefully. |

300kms from a stock 1100 with a 1+1/4 carby and standard exhaust driving carefully out of the standard tank 250kms from a tickled 1100 with an 1+1/2 carby and extractors + system driving carefully out of the standard tank they dont seem to return as good fuel economy as when they were new i think, which would have been about 40mpg |
