Post subject:  Dunlop Formula Rs vs Yokahama A008

I know this has been discussed many times in the past and I have read it all but I have specific questions about Dunlops that I am hoping people who have bought them and are running them can answer.

1) In terms of softness are the Dunlops the same or similar compound as Yoko A008 or more like Yoko A032R? Basically I don't want a fast wearing compound as I heard A032Rs are quite soft and wear quite quickly. I am after good performance and good wear similar to A008

2) For road cars are the Dunlops good in the wet? I know racers use them for wet weather but that's track, what about crappy sydney roads?

Any advice would be good. I have to change whole set of tyres in the next 4 weeks (rego time  ) and have always wanted A008 until I saw the dunlops 8) They do look the business

I gotta set of D01J's on there way to me at the momment. I used to run A008s years ago on 10's. And yeah they seem to wear pretty quick with hard driving. I have got a set of A539's on at the momment, which have only seen easy driving and are still really good after 8000ks. But give us a few months n ill be able to tell you how the D01J's perform!!!

Thats if it ever stops raining up here.......

Formular R's are soft, not quite as soft as 32r's, i would go a008's in your case. A litle loner wearing and still a great performance trye.

Cheers
Aaron
