Post subject: | Valve Saver? |
I run 1ml Valve Saver per Litre of fuel (95ron all I can get here).eg. 20litres = 20ml Now I have a modded motor, cam, head etc....I been told I should double the dose. What do others use? Should I be adding more to protect my Valves? Mike |

Keep it at 1 ml per litre. More will just gum everything up. I use flashlube at 1ml per litre. Hooroo Rob Forsyth Miniot!! |

I run the 1mL/Litre of Flashlube valve saver in my 1360, When I stripped it last (valves & seats had done 30,000 miles) they were fine- all clean and no valve seat recession. I reckon the standard amount is OK. If you run NONE after rebuild, I'd give the seats 6 months before needing recutting- I proved this (just for fun) with my son's 1100 Clubby. |

i thought when you had a rebuild you have a un-leaded head put on and no longer use valve saver.? like every other car. or atleast if you ahve an unleaded head put on.? |

My 1360 is pretty well ported out, it had oversize (31mm) exhaust valves fitted when done up years ago- no ROOM there for unleaded inserts... ![]() Fitting inserts is an option, I shrink fitted Rover ones to our 1293 when I did it- but that head is near stock. It runs 95 octane and NO additive. Wife's car... ![]() |

Well when fitting the oversize valves to the head I was told the converting to unleaded was very difficult to do. |
