I couldn't find any numbers on the radiator shroud or bulkhead.. But this was stamped in the gutter under the front windscreen on the passengers side:

2906 2704V

Does that mean anything?

clubman? roundie?

if roundie - smooth or pressed roof? cutaway or plain beaver panel?

roundie van should have a stamping in the rad shroud and in the firewall

Well it's had the front cut off it, so I'm not sure what it is.. I've been told that it could originally be around a 68-69 round nose van. But here is what I know about it:

Interior:
-Red seat belts
-Blue vinyl low seats (the deluxe style seats)
-There is a hole in the floor for the 850 style magic wand gearbox, but someone has then done a shitty angel grinder job to make a hole for a rod change g/box.
-Doors have windup windows
-It has the white single centre speedo (850 style)

Exterior:
- I guess pressed roof, it's not smooth it has the patterns along it, cutaway is it?
- It has a Dulon plate on the firewall which says: CADET BLUE 566-11703
- Then under this it has a plate which has the Leyland logo on it. But the plate has been so faded and scratched you can't see anythign else.
- I *think* it has a two speed wiper motor, but I'll have to double check this.

So that plate on the firewall tells me it is a leyland.. but the interior? Magic wand gearstick, seats, centre console?? It's so hard to tell..

Oh and I've been stripping the paint on top there is the cadet blue colour (as per the dulon plate on the firewall) but there seems to be a whitish yellow colour undernieth. Would this be a standard undercoat, or could this be the original paint.. Which would mean someone stuck the dulon plate on, which would indicate someone also put the leyland plate on.. oh confusing.. Can anyone help?

cadet blue is a '69 colour... given the magic wand and crappy cutout job, I'd say it's a pre Mini K, 850 van... ought to have a number on the firewall at least though

I love cadet blue - not many cars around in that colour - petensoaf's S popped up yesterday - 2 in 2 days!

no idea what the number in the gutter means - I have never seen any mini with the stamping there, though I know they exist. I was told the other day that it was an anti-theft identification number - so mightn't correlate to anything on the car, just BMC records...

I think this is going to very difficult to rego without any numbers. I think you will need to (ahem) find some numbers that magically appeared on it, if you get my drift.

It sounds like a roundnose, but it could be either a K or an 850. The K vans still had the Moke type pudding stirrer which bolts on in place of a remote.

Cheers,
