They were made from March `69 to late '71. Replaced the 998 Mini Deluxe. Had 1098 motor, 4 synchro remote change box, similar instruments to Cooper S, but only drum brakes. Good car. More power and torque than the Deluxe. Not sure how many made. ![]() |

There is one ding in the drivers door, other wise the body is in excellent condition with no exterior rust and the Mini K 1100 decals are still on the car , the rubbers and chrome work is in good condition with no rust in chrome. The car has been owned by the lady's brother since new and has 62000 miles on the clock. The interior has no rips and the seat belts are not frayed. The car is still to the best of my knowledge still in orginal codition. I have no idea of what to offer her and she has no price in mind. Any help would be greatful. |

to most people, a mini is just an old car, nothing special... as far as buying them goes, that's the way I like to keep it. People are paying stupid money for minis these days (2-3000 for an average standard clubman is ridiculous). It's always best to start low of course, but not so low that it's insulting. If it drives, offer them $400, it it doesn't drive, offer $200, go up from there. If it drives and doesn't have any substantial rust, I'd pay about $1200 before I started to have serious doubts of the value. When you're looking at it, pull up the carpets at the front and check the floor at the front corners of the footwell - if it's clean and rust free, you're on a winner, if it's rusty, point it out to the owner and say "if it's rusty here, it's rusty everywhere and needs a lot of work" (which is basically true, it goes from the floor to the sills pretty quick). Check the base of the inner-guards behind the front wheels, and the front of the floor (from the outside, under the guards) and infront of the back wheels, have a good poke at them cos a bit of mud can hide a lot of ugly holes... be critical of it, then make your offer |

![]() My Uncle had one and he let me drive him home from the mess every now and then!! Great little car, always made you feel special that it was an "Australian" Mini. Don't forget to check the boot and battery box for rust....for a car like you have described I would say $1K (get it!) would not be unreasonable ![]() |

If it's in that good condition, I'd say $2K up. Shitboxes are bringing $1K now. ![]() |

I paid around 1200 for my K, although it wasnt in the best condition. Rust in the floors and the drivers door, and a busted fuel pump were the things wrong with it. Everything else was all good though. |

Rust-free and runs well, good interior and low mileage. No rego? I'd pay $2500. Maybe $3000+ if it is really clean. Add another $500-800 if it is rego'd and comes with a roadworthy Add another $1000 if is a 71 with lift-up door handles (like a Clubman). They are very rare. Just my opinion. As you can understand, its hard to put a value on it without seeing the car... |

my buying strategy has alwys been, 'whats the best price you will take?' 9/10 times they say a price a lot lower than what I would have the balls to offer. ![]() |

very well done indeed - lift up door handles is a real bonus - legend has it that there were about 300 Mini K's with lift up door handles built. Don't be tempted to customise it too much! it's a Morris - British Leyland bought out British Motor Company in 1968 or 1969 (correct me if I'm wrong), so they were still badged as Morrises, then when they cut over to the square nosed clubman shape they badged them as leyland welcome to the heaven that is mini ownership - enjoy your new best friend ![]() |

Go Shirl - you are hooked now. You may as well give away the motorbike wreckers and do the mini thing. It always only starts with one and it just goes from there. I hope you have fun with the "K" and make sure you show it off from time to time. Skins |
