I guess we have all been here.
On sunday I joined 2 mini clubs on a cruise up the Swan valley, then on to Supa Golf, well, nearly.

My 68 Morris Mini minor was overheating a little bit. I figured it was just running a bit hot due to finally getting to "stretch his legs". there was slight oil seepage from the head, right near the engine stamp. Not thinking too much of it, i drove. Just before getting to Supa Golf, it started smoking, and making that "fft fft fft" sound.
I pulled over and oil was everywhere.
I haven't seen the damage properly yet, but hoping it is just a gasket. I know the thermostat housing gasket was leaking too.

I finally got it towed home about 7 last night, not wanting to leave it in the Swan Valley.

I was put onto a great mechanic in the hills, so today i bought a sports extractors & exhaust system, taking my twin su setup & gonna go see him.

I guess it just goes to prove that if you buy a mini with a 1275 off an old lady, those gaskets aren't going to hold very much when you finally open it up.

Thanks to the guys who helped me out & gave me a lift b4 golf & after. First time I met you all. Just goes to show how good the mini spitit is. Also goes to show why so many of you own new minis, heh heh.

Oh well, just thought i would share my weekends experience...
