The other night I dropped my gf home not 30 mins from home water level checked only like 3 days beforehand, temp fine on the way there everything was going sweet. THEN on the way home I used the whole radiator full of water and had to stop lucky I keep a watchful eye on my gauges. Walked home got like a 2lite bottle of water and went back to the car several blocks away filled her up and then when i got it home the top and bottom hoses were cracked so i did chop n fix method seems to perfect again. However I wil buy new hoses and fit them wen I cna afford to have the car off the road.

No , don't wait , get new hoses on it asap , how much did you spend rebuilding it ? Want to spend that again because you put off fitting new hoses for a few days ? 1275's are pretty close to the limit of cooling in standard trim with standard radiators so everything needs to be working right for them to go well . Do it this weekend if you can't do it earlier and carry a lot of water with you till you can change them as well , too much of a risk otherwise .

Nahh , I meant how much did it cost to rebuild the motor before you put it in , cooling is one of the things you can't be complacent with when you're running a 1275 .

My opinion..If he cut of the cracked bit at the end and put the hose back on properly, i don't see any reason for him to be worried if it's keeping it cool fine now.

Sure get them replaced at your convenience, but if you ain't got a problem what's the rush? Just keep an eye on your temps, if you experience further problems, don't drive it until you change the hoses.
