oh dear... ![]() i saw a little hole, so i poked it with a screw driver... after further investigation the rest of the sill is fairly thin, and there is a hole in the inner too(but apex panels are fine...) i can patch the inner(outter is currently patched temporaray), but im thinking im best to just replace the whole outter sill, that way i can take it off and clean up/fishoil inside the cavity while im at it. i then investigated the other side and its just as bad, only further along the car and the inner is okay. SO: has anyone done a sill latley? do you just drill the spot welds along the seam and grind/drill the rest of the welds, clamp the new one on and plug weld along the seam? and then welt where ever else the orriginals are attached? (i havent investigated where they attatch) |

Well no one else has responded yet... I'm sure you've seen what I did but here goes.... jbeenz wrote: SO: has anyone done a sill latley? do you just drill the spot welds along the seam and grind/drill the rest of the welds, clamp the new one on and plug weld along the seam? and then welt where ever else the orriginals are attached? I didn't use a commercial replacement panel, nor did I take the old one off up to the seam. But I did do plug welds along the floor. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
