Are water pumps overhaulable? - Aluminium housing has "growths" inside from the water - the cast iron impeller is rusted - bearing unknown. I have two in such condition and a third on the car internals unknown. Don't particularly want to buy one for the sake of buying it but thought if one can be made 'nearly' new then why not ![]() |

Dude, Just ditch it. They not expensive. If you are doing a concourse resto the original steel ones can be rebuilt but works out more money than buying a new alloy repro. |

I agree. If buying an alloy one, particularly for a 1275, avoid the ones with the tin impellers- they don't pump as well as the cast ones. If you really want a cast iron original pump I've got one you can have for nix, but the kits are dearer than a new alloy pump! ![]() |

Thanks for the offer Kevin - but I'll get a new alloy one when I get round to fitting the new head. |
