What's the general opinion on these:

Do you think they are out of place on an Aussie Mini...say a Clubby??

I use a black one, looks the same. Yes they are crap now- the Chinese have engineered all the rigidity out of them and they shake, on mine, anyhow!

One day I'll get a better one... :(

hmmmm....I made an impulse purchase and bought 2 brand spankin new Rover Mini mirrors as pictured. According to my mates on a UK board (where i am a mod  ) I got an absolute bargain. I got both for less than the normal price of one..... :P If I want to put my Mini on club plates I dont think I can use them. Decisions, decisions.....to club plate or not to club plate....to mirror or not to mirror....

Non period accessory. Car must be original or with period accessories.

These are a recent mirror yea? I know the ones I bought are to suit a 2000 Cooper or something like that (not a Bini)

In Vic & Qld the rule of must be a period accessory doesn't apply for club permit scheme.

In Vic we only have to supply a road worthy certificate when first applying for club plates and that's it.

In Qld. they don't even have to supply a road worthy just apply for club plates.

I don't know why they can't just make life easy and regulate all the rules across the whole of Aust. It would makes things so much easier.

I'd say yes! but I'd be thinking more about the safety issue... How do you change lanes in traffic without mirrors when there is a phat 4WD behind you blocking 180 degrees of your rear vision??

JAM: Personally I like the chrome mirrors better dude... but that's just me...

Mutant, in NSW the rules seem a bit tighter, but of course it depends on the club. MCC NSW has been having a lot of discussion lately about this issue. Cars must be original or modified in an acceptable way, which is basically period accessories or modification.

2000 model mirrors on a 60's Mini don't cut it. I cant decide to build a car to suit my liking, or to suit the club plate registrar. The latter is a better option financially, which is cool because my Mini will be a weekender anyway.

actully the problem excisted with the previous plate registrar the new one is tring to loosen up the scheem abit but while not letting it get to over the top with mod's which i understand as it detracts from the spirit as it was origanally intended. the only reason they are so strick i supouse as it is getting harder and harder to get original mini's
makka
