Post subject: | Primary Gear end-float .... |
Hey all, just setting things up here ready for assembly .... I've got three primary gears, three "front" bushes (One closest to the engine) about 30 lock rings and "C" washers ... no matter how i mix and match, i cant get less than about 0.018" end-float... Manual calls for about 0.006" and the Miniman reackons 0.005" is the go .... i MIGHT have some more front bushes around here somewhere, but other than that, whats the answer ? I Know too LITTLE End float is disastrous for gear-changing, but I'm assuming that too much will allow oil to escape and possibly lead to too much movement and eventual failure .... Anyone got any ideas ? J |

yeah no worries man, just pick the best of what you have,,,throw it all in there,,,measure what gap you have & then measure what thrust you have used for me, so then i can add what you need to end up with what you need if that makes any sense at all ??????? ![]() |
