Try replacing the front right brake hose on a roundnose without cutting a hole in wheel arc... If the clutch pin is a b***h then the brake hose is a MEGA B***H!

I have a new worst job EVER! Clutch and brake master cylinders. I could have cut the whole front of the car off it was so frustrating. I couldn't get one of the pins out under the dash on the pedal box. Theres only so much time you can spend, on your back, on the floor, under the dash before you grab the grinder and cut the bastard out. Yeah! Me "one", mini "none" Has anyone else got a WORST JOB EVER? |

Two things I'm not rushing to do again are to reinstall the wiper wheel boxes and those metal tubes and to put 1/4 vent window assemblies back in the doors, but I've found most things on the mini are a bitch to do, due to lack of room, I guess having big hands doesn't help much either. |

i found that job pretty easy, doing the pedal box thing with the master cyls, you need a torch shining up so you can see, and i did it on all fours resting on my elbows |

oh i remeber doing that one. that job was a bit of a pain, made it easier the fact that i had the seats out at the time. worst part was i lost the pin and had to find a replacement, it is still somewhere up behind the wheel somewhere. (oh and i found a shelf full of little rocks dose anyone know where they may have come from?) |

yer what you said 68deluxe, the clevis pins for the brake and clutch are ok on my car, only takes two minutes to change them. |

When the front has been cut off the car, and you've got no seats, it's not too hard to get the master cylinders off  Although half the nuts holding the master cylinders snapped on mine due to rust.

Clevis pins can be a bugger if they are well worn like mine were. I gave up in the end by pulling the circlip on the master cylinder and pulling out the guts of it so i could take out the pedal box with the clevis pin and piston still attached. Took it down to the bench and had it out one well aimed blow with a punch and BFH. Tip: New pins and deburred holes make life a piece of cake now. |

to make life easier next time, i use one of these http://www.twf8.ws/new/tech/car/xray/xb ... -5-019.jpg the silver bit in the middle, they are a 'body clip' for a remote contolled car, and u can use one instead of one of these clevis pins and make life a lot easier |

The brake and clutch m/cylinder clevis pins in a Moke where the PO replaced the clevis pins with 5/16" nut and bolt, that rusted over time and the corners on the nuts and bolts turned off. These mongrels were tight right to the very end of the bolt, you know the type. I figure my revenge is to put them back in for the next owner

PO had re-used the bent split pin on my clutch master, which jammed & I spent 2 hours trying to get it out (sore back later) then I thought about chopping it off whith the grinder & remembered I had a dremel - 5 mins later I had the pin out

Hey!! I use those too! I've found that in some hardware stores, they are also called "R-clips, or "humpback" clips |

Go to Supercheap & spend the 10 ish dollars on a long set of pointy nosed pleirs, under 5 mins to get the pins out that way. Doogie |
