Howdy all, I have another problem with the ol' mini.
I dunno if this is a common problem for the mini, but whenever I make a mild left turn there is a strange noise, which sounds like an alien from outta space, coming from the rear of the car.

Has anybody else had this problem before?

Hmmm, now if it was a leprechaun or a ghost in the engine bay I might be able to help, but sorry, I don't do aliens. :D
Good luck.

have you checked your rear left and right wheel bearings?

if it's a whurring or high pitched vibration it's a good place to start.

jach the caar up at the rear and check for free play sideways with the rear wheels on. no noise or movment is good

minis also have gremlins, but they can be atrributed to the prince of darkness. He only has power over electrical issues though.

Hehe, thanks for the advice about the bearings. I checked the back wheels and there seems to be a bit too much play, so I will see how to change them over in the manual and hopefully no more invasions.

But the aliens were good for scaring mates when I took them for a drive.

if it matters too you the taper bearings are better than the roller type they last a bit longer. considering it's not the most "clean" fun you can have with your mini it might be worth not having to do again for a while

Thanks for the tips. With the thread, I found that out a couple of weeks ago when I put just about all my effort into undoing it.
