I am not sure if anyone else was at the MOCQ meeting last Tuesday night but Matt did a talk about general mini maintenance (mmmmm I'm bad for this too) and not only did it keep my interest for the 30-45min that he spoke but it was bloody interesting.
Cheers and Thanks Matt

Gerard

ha ha, Thanks Gerard,,,

& Striped, it was actually only the one :-)

I was asked to do it as Billy Westerman was booked in for a talk about the new Race track at Kilcoy but pulled out, so they hit me up, & here i was thinking that i would barely have 10mins worth of info/talk in me & didn`t realise how long i dribbled on for, was really good involving the whole audience tho, there was a long que of people after the meeting wanting to thank me & compliment me on how informative, easy to understand, & entertaining it was, I`m pretty choofed about it really

then all the phone calls about it the next few days just blew me away

now the pres (Unkle Bob) has asked that i do something like that every meeting but on a particular subject/item/area of mini mechanicals

wellllllll,,,,what can i say ???? :-)

thanks heaps,,,it`s that sort of appreciation that really makes it all worthwhile

cheers Gerard & good to meet you & also i have some of those Hi-los done now ready to go now if you`re still interested :-)

thanks again people :-)

I might have to start attending the meetings again!! I gave up during the whole sell/keep the van & buy/build the trailer saga. Man those guys can stuff around without making a decision....

How about this topic Matt: Setting up SUs without spending $$$$ on a dyno. I'd pay to hear your advice on that one. God knows, my car needs it too.

Yeah , good thought mokestar, will look into it for sure as a topic for one of the meetings.

& here`s what Stev from the Toowoomba club sent me--->

Hi Matt.,
Just thought I would let you know what a great job you did the other nite. It is members such as yourself who put in the extra effort which keeps the Club alive.
During the drive back to Toowoomba, your efforts were talked about with good vibes. It is not easy sometimes to front a full house, particularly after a busy day's work and try and answer all the soul searching questions from the throng.
Once again the presentation was great and the way you explained the wet and dry suspensions, cones, trumpets, etc., came over really well and I'm sure we all came away with a better perspective of our Minis. The trip was certainly not wasted and the more the maintenance in front of members the better for all concerned.
Maybe one day you might make the journey up here to relive Targa with us at a meeting or even a weekend could be arranged to work in with yourself.
Regards,
Stev. Ireland - T'wmba Group

feeling all bubbly inside now :-)

Matt
maybe we could continue this thread by giving u some suggestions and ideas for your monthly chats - possibly things we want to know about to make it easier 4 u to come up with topics...
a couple of things i want to know about:
1. Setting the timing correctly for a pulsar dizzy
2. Ideas 4 head performance
3. Where to go in bris and what to buy to rebuild a motor
4. Replacing a hood lining

They have a projector there too if you need to show any pics.... I always like to start my classes with a cartoon on the projector. If you need any handouts put on the website so people can print them off b4 they get there and bring it along send me the content over..... Cheers Gerard :D :D

Thanks Gerard, i did tell Bop Hooper that i might not actually be at every monthly club meeting as it`s also one of my "play squash" nights, but did tell him that if when i do go then i could do some form of talk about some particular mini related subject of some time, ,,,lots of "Somes" there hey? :-)

but still, i`ll sort "some" thing out & the pics on the projector thingy is a good idea & cartoons are allways a good thing, cheers

Marc, just fill the entire back seat area with huge motha speaker box & glue it all in there so it don`t rattle & vibrate,,,My Rally navigator (Robbo) had some goose customer at cleveland hyundai come in with a hyundai set up some huge speaker box thing in his boot, quite ellaborate, fancy dancy, mega dollar, motha of a boom box,,,filled the boot space entirley & looked like it was made "IN" there. DikK HedD didn`t realize that his spare wheel was underneath & it all had to be demolished to change a tyre :-) DikK hedD!!!!!!!!!!!
