Post subject:  SU carbie rebuild kits?

Hi all, I've got a problem with my SU carbies on my rover. The little pipe coming from the bottom of the external float chambers leaks fuel everywhere, so i need to rebuild it. Who knows a place where i can get a rebuild kit/the parts required to fix this? (Sydney)..
Thanks

Repco, Autobarn, AutoPro etc sell the Oz made Fuel Miser kit p/no SU-750.
Fits HS2 and HS4.
You need 1 per carb.
You get gaskets, float needle valve and its seat, a new main jet and jet hose.

What you need are the little o rings that seal the needle & seat into the float bowl, if you can't do it yourself PM me & i'll put you onto a man who knows more about Su's thatn anyone.

Gonna try this myself this weekend.

Twin HS2 - got rebuild kit, cleaned one carb, left other intact (good tip - thanks to all who have mentioned this on various threads :)), got SU book, fingers crossed! Might try the Singer sewing machine oil...

I had a problem with the Fuel Miser kit about two years ago. The hose from the float chamber to the jet died after a couple of months use.
I had to fill the tank with E10 (no option) and the hose died within a week. It went dry and crumbly.
I contacted Fuel Miser about the hose and after a couple of weeks their technical bloke got back to me and said that the hose was tested ok for all fuels except E10 and Premium.

That's good to know, I wonder what fuel they recommend then? Shell A?

I better keep an eye on mine then, as it's running 98.
