Well Kev dialed mine in with the head off still with his little gagets...
and he set my belt drive up also... but mine is a vernier adj one

Gday all those wiley in the ways of the mini-Gods I have finally got the engine back together and got it all bolted up. However how do I dial in the camshaft now I have it all together. The Triger belt drive has no adjustment in it therefore can I run the '13 "straight up" or do I have to do some massaging. I am pouring over books and I am not really confident in getting it right. KC says check it at the valve - but will it be detrimental to the new motor if I do the RE-13 "dot to dot" for the run in and then play with it later on. Your learned advice is appreciated... Rob, I use offset cam keys if they are not vernier ones. Never had a problem with them, even running a 10* key once. Karcraft sells a limited range. RE13 cam I time in at 105-106*ATDC with a belt drive, but 103-104 with a duplex chain (as they stretch).
My belt drive needed a 6* offset key in to get it right with the RE13.... |
