I'm assuming it's an 850
Body prefix is YMA2S1 and i can't read the number at the moment
Engine prefix is 8AM/U/H engine number might be 544610
Number stamped on the shroud might be 35757 i need to strip the paint to be able to read them properly.
It came with no wipers, doors or boot to be able to use as a reference.

One thing i'm sure of is it certainly isn't the K i was led to believe it was

It's definitely an 850 and according to the others in the 850 register it was built late 63 and probably registerred first around January 1964 . Number on the shroud may be one digit out somewhere but is fairly close to where the engine number fit's in , about 700 to a 1000 different but there are other spots in the list where engine and body numbers go in different directions so to speak so it could be the right number , interesting to hear once you've cleared the paint off . Is this the one from Ben ?

Thank's for the plate pic , I'll add it's details to the register . The smooth scuttle was an early mini thing , changed somewhere round Mk2 cooperS or mini K I think but not sure really . Hopefully someone else can answer that one .

The Dulux book lists Cherry Red from 1960 to 1963.
So my guess would be before 64.

I've been told the smooth scuttle, before the one with inset wiper holes with little triangular creases was used up to about 67. My silver shell was registerd as a 64 but has the later scuttle and all electrics say 67 or 68. My white shell has the smooth scuttle and does have the hydro line routes in the floor and around the steering rack area. So I'm guessing it is 63-66 vintage.

NAV, does yours have the hydro line routes? I am probably F.O.Sh1t but I don't recall 850s having room for the hydro pipes.

The scuttle changed in late 68.
My "S" is a mid 68 and it has the early scuttle.

Yes Mokesta....you probably are FOS :!: ....hydro lines came later...sliding window doors and no cut-outs in the front valance are a dead giveaway.

Ease up Mick. My 850 has been butchered to resemble a late k with lift up handle doors. and i mean butchered.

Now there's a quality conversion job ..... Maybe this shot should be used every time someone asks what's needed to fit clubman doors onto an early shell . Good luck with it Nav , you've got a big job ahead of you but the rest of the bodies pretty good and will be worth it in the end .

I'm allowed to be FOS when it comes to minis, I'm a moke guy :D
It's just that you can tart up an 850 with wind-up windows and cut out the front apron, even weld up the shift hole, but the little grooves in the shell near the rack where the hydro pipes on a Deluxe go wouldn't be there on an 850 (I assume) and probably woudn't be made by someone tarting up the 850 to look like a K or Deluxe.

NAV, before you patch up that shell, come & check out the one I've got for sale. It may be less work, and if you're paying for panel repairs, cheaper overall.

I see :!: said the blind man :!: .....question: why would anybody, with all their faculties, want to tart up an 850 to look like a Deluxe :?:  I'm totally confused

Thanks but no.
Trust me when i say this will be soooooo much easier than the deluxe shell i had. That and the minister for everything got shirty when i saved over $900 in panels by spending $230 picking this one up, not to mention i would have had to pay a pro to do it all properly.
